These are usually left behind by programs you uninstall from your computer.Use the Empty folder finder to optimize the way your disk space is used. Most uninstall procedures delete the contents while leaving behind a trail of empty folders.
To use the Empty folder finder follow the steps:
Step 1
Choose Clean My Computer and then Click Empty Folders. - Click Add a New Path button to add a new path for System LifeGuard - Empty folder finder to scan.
- Click Delete Path button to remove a certain path from the list
- Click Add All Local Drives to add to the list all the local drives of your computer
- Click Clear All Paths to clear the entire list of paths/drives.
Click Next button and System LifeGuard 2 - Empty folder finder will start scanning the selected paths/drives for empty folders.
Step 2
System Lifeguard 2 - Empty folder finder scans your computer and the empty folders will be listed. - Click Select All button to select all the empty folders from the list.
- Click Unselect All button to unselect all the empty folders from the list.
- Click Filter to filter the empty folders from the list on several criteria: by name, by date, by size or/and by security level.
- Click Clear Filter to remove the filter that has been applied to the list.
- After selecting the files to clean click Clean All Selected button and then choose what to do with the selected files:
- Secure Delete Files - the empty folders will be deleted but there will be a possibility to recover them using Restore Deleted Files function
- Delete Files - the selected empty folders will be deleted from your computer.
- Shred Files - the selected empty folders will be permanently removed from your computer and there will be no way to recover them.
- Click Backup All Selected to backup the selected files that you are going to delete. You will be taken to Backup Files page
- Click Pack Selected to create a zip file from all the selected files. A window will de opened so that you can select the path and type in the name of the Zip file that is to be created.
- Click Organize To button if you want to organize the selected files to a certain folder.
